Do you know an entrepreneur, innovator, or community partner looking for technical assistance to bring their technology to market? Consider sharing the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Technology Transitions Technology Commercialization Fund (TCF) Open Voucher Call. The new $2.1 million opportunity will make $100,000 vouchers available to innovators, entrepreneurs, and community partners looking for technical assistance to bring their technology to market.

The single-phase open voucher call will award up to 21 vouchers to be redeemed at one of eight national laboratories, including Sandia National Laboratories, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Ames National Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Voucher support may include, but is not limited to, testing and validation, use of specialized equipment or software, simulation or modeling, and consulting. Teams will have one year to work with one national laboratory of their choice and must provide a progress report at the conclusion of their work.

The Technology Commercialization Fund Open Voucher Call is part of the American-Made program and was designed to provide the public with opportunities to receive assistance from researchers at DOE national laboratory facilities. Goals of the program include identifying pathways for national lab technologies to make their way to market and fostering a culture of curiosity and collaboration, while bridging the gap between scientific expertise and public engagement. DOE hopes to inspire a new generation of researchers and instill a sense of shared responsibility for advancing knowledge and innovation within the scientific community.

Anyone interested in learning more about the voucher call is encouraged to attend a DOE informational webinar on July 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Applications for the call are due Oct. 3, 2024.
