Sandia’s vehicle technologies research advances the science of internal combustion engines and optical diagnostics, increasing efficiency and reducing harmful emissions. Sandia contributes to efforts to increase the level of electrification in our nation’s transportation system. Our research enhances battery safety, battery diagnostics, and abuse testing. We develop high performance wide bandgap electronic materials and devices for electric drivetrain power electronics. We provide tools that accelerate the safe and cyber-secure deployment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
