He has spent the last ten years working on a wide-range of topics in marine renewable energy, including modeling and measuring tidal and wave environments for resource characterization and assessment, experimental testing and numerical modeling of marine energy conversion technologies, and bench-marking their techno-economic performance. His recent work focuses on tidal and wave energy resource characterization, assessment and classification to support regional energy planning, project development, technology design and type-certification. Vince is a registered professional engineer and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recognized for the breadth of his contributions to research, teaching, and practice in fluid mechanics and hydraulic engineering. He is a member and subject matter expert of the US Technical Advisory Group for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), developing international standards for the marine renewable energy industry.
