Nguyen is a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and an editor of IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He received his B.S degree in Power Systems from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam in 2007 and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2014. Before joining Sandia National Laboratories in September 2016, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Washington. His research interests include energy storage analytics, microgrid modeling and analysis, and the integration of distributed resources into power grids.
