Biography

Dr. Birk Jones has accumulated over two decades of experience committed to improving the construction, operation, and utilization of buildings and the electric grid. His comprehensive professional history includes roles as a design engineer, construction engineer, and research staff member. In 2023, Dr. Jones took a year-long entrepreneurial leave, assuming the role of Director of Customer Solutions for a Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) company. As a researcher at Sandia National Laboratories, Dr. Jones focuses on investigating the integration, control, and fault detection and diagnostics of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).
