Daniel Riley

Research Engineer

Daniel Riley is a research engineer in the Photovoltaics (PV) and Materials Technology Program at Sandia National Laboratories. The scope of Daniel’s work includes PV modules and systems with focus in data acquisition, characterization, and modeling. Daniel has also developed skills for characterizing and modeling non-standard PV technologies such as concentrating photovoltaics (CPV) and AC modules. Daniel received a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla in 2006, and a master’s in electrical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2011. His university research emphasis in communications and computer intelligence has been applied in the PV field, resulting in a patent for machine learning applications for PV system prognostics and health.
