He received his PhD from Virginia Tech University in 2006. He is presently a Senior Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories in the Nuclear Fuel Cycle & Grid Modernization Center. He has worked at Sandia for over 28 years. His interest in research is power electronics necessary for integrating energy storage and distributed generation with the electric utility grid. He leads the power electronics and tribal energy storage subprograms as part of the DOE Office of Electricity Energy Storage Program.
