Leon-Quiroga Ph.D. Senior Member of the Technical Staff Contact Information Jorge A. Leon-Quiroga / 505-845-8062 Biography Jorge A. Leon-Quiroga, PhD, is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff in the Renewable and Distributed Systems Integration (RDSI) group at Sandia National Laboratories. His research is focused on numerical modeling and power grid integration of renewable energy systems, especially for marine renewable energy. He started as a postdoctoral researcher in Sandia Labs in 2020 after he finished his PhD. Since then, he has been working on different research projects involving numerical modeling and hardware-in- the-loop testing. Dr. Leon-Quiroga has extensive experience working on dynamic systems modeling, powertrain simulations, and developing software to simulate marine energy applications. Dr. Leon-Quiroga has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Andes (Bogota, Colombia), and received his PhD in Engineering Technology from Purdue University in 2020. Education Ph.D. in Engineering Technology from Purdue University – 2020 Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Andes, Bogota, Colombia – 2017 Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Andes, Bogota, Colombia – 2015 Google Scholar: Jorge A.
