Biography

Martha Gross is a Postdoctoral Appointee in the Nanoscales Sciences Department at Sandia National Laboratories. Her primary research focus is battery materials for large-scale energy storage to help meet the nation’s need for a resilient, reliable, and flexible electric grid. She is currently developing a molten sodium battery with inorganic molten salt catholytes to drive operation temperatures from ~ 300 °C to close to 100 °C, with a goal of substantially decreasing battery costs while maintaining battery performance and safety.
