Webinar Series Improves Understanding of Offshore Wind Turbine-Radar Interference

To better understand the potential impacts of wind turbine radar interference, the Wind Turbine Radar-Interference Mitigation, or WTRIM, Working Group, led by Sandia National Laboratories’ researcher Ben Karlson, hosted a series of six webinars for the offshore wind industry, federal agencies, and radar experts. Research indicates that offshore wind turbines can interfere with radar systems like those used for air traffic control, weather forecasting, and homeland security.
