Highlighting the Energy Storage for Social Equity Initiative November 15, 2023 8:30 am Published by David Sokoloff The Sandia Demonstrations team – Waylon Clark, Henry Guan, and Tim Wilcox – assisted in selecting the first four projects for deployment under the DOE Office of Electricity sponsored Energy Storage for Social Equity (ES4SE) program. These following four projects will receive approximately $1.1 million in project deployment cost share assistance from Sandia through the program. The projects include: Native Renewables, Inc. – Deploying off-grid solar plus storage systems on the Navajo Nation and Hopi Reservation.Harambee House in Savannah, Georgia – Serving as a community resilience hub.Ho’ahu Energy Cooperative in Molokai, Hawaii – Working to deploy off-grid solar plus storage systems to homesteads on native Hawaiian homelands.Coast Electric Power – Installing solar plus storage to provide resiliency to a wastewater treatment facility near the hurricane prone coast of Mississippi.
