Could energy and security challenges in the Arctic help solve energy or security concerns nationwide? That is one of many questions that will be explored by international scientists, national labs, government agencies, and Arctic stakeholders on May 30-31 at Alaska National Lab Day. Held at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the event aims in part to identify opportunities to support research in energy, climate, and security at the national level.
The complete agenda is available here. In addition to contributing to panel sessions at the event, Sandia staff will be available from noon – 1:30pm during the National Laboratory Showcase held in the Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility, Wednesday, May 30. Visitors can stop by the Sandia booth to learn about Sandia’s existing work, facilities, and partnerships in the arctic, as well as information and resources about how to partner with Sandia.
In conjunction with the event, Sandia released its site sharing information on the Arctic, such as the security challenges posed in the Arctic and the research, technology, software, and capabilities available at Sandia to help address them.
