He has worked in Geomechanics, Solar Thermal, PV systems, and Environmental Research groups, with most work related to providing power and collecting instrumented data for such work. Nearly half of his time was spent working in Arctic sites on the North Slope of Alaska, in support of climate research for DOE. Other work included climate sites in the Pacific Ocean region. Renewable energy systems work involved water pumping, standalone PV systems, and recent work related to grid tied inverter systems. His expertise is in the area of field/lab instrumentation, whether that be climate related or renewable energy areas.
