A polyphenyline membrane fuel cell patented by Sandia was described in an article in the August 21 issue of Nature Energy co-authored by Cy Fujimoto. This fuel cell operates over a wide temperature range and can potentially offer reduced cost and increased life compared to similar commercial products. Co-authors included researchers from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan.
