3-D Printed Blade Mold on Display at the Department of Energy Booth at American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) WindPower Conference
Stop by AWEA booth #4847 to see a revolutionary 3-D-printed blade mold designed to reduce costs and time associated with manufacturing, experiment with new capabilities, and improve design flexibility. The Wind Program, Advanced Manufacturing Office, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories (which designed the blade), and other organizations are partnering to apply this advanced manufacturing technology to the production of wind turbine blade molds. The 3-D blade mold teams, including the Sandia Labs Wind Energy Department, will be at the booth throughout the show.
