While cost and performance continue to drive improvements in energy storage systems, the storage community is increasingly incorporating elements of safety into these systems. This is especially true for high consequence environments of defense or aerospace and larger scale systems in utility storage or transportation. The theme of the 2nd International Battery Safety Workshop will be “Safe by Design.” Session topics of the workshop will focus on design requirements, hazards, mitigations, and validation. This is meant to be an open and productive workshop for attendees to engage in the work that is driving energy storage safety in the community.
