HOW TO DEVELOP AND FINANCE SOLAR POOL PROJECTS

The Third Party Financed Solar Pools approach delivers solar pool heating systems to municipal/ commercial pool owners at a cost less than current heating expenses, and without the owner incurring up-front capital.

This site will walk you through the basic concepts and steps, so you, too, can reap the benefits.

Acknowledgment
This work was conceived and developed by Valerie Rauluk, CEO of Venture Catalyst, Inc. and Dave Menicucci of Sandia National Labs and was funded through the Department of Energy’s Million Solar Roof and Solar Hot Water programs. The content of this site is based on an actual solar pool project undertaken by the City of Tucson under the direction of Vinnie Hunt, Energy Manager.

Venture Catalyst Inc., with over 25 years of experience in technology development and diffusion as well as project creation and management, worked under contract to Sandia to lead the development of the project in Tucson. The company is largely responsible for assembling the material that is contained in the site, which is designed to help other municipalities to emulate these activities. In addition, Venture Catalyst also developed the fundamental design and content of this “how-to” site. Valerie can be reached at (520)-326-3195 or vajra@vecat-inc.com.

The final design and creation of the site was managed by Lisa Sena-Henderson at Sandia Labs. The technical tool contained at the site (i.e., the solar pool calculator) was developed by John Strachan, Greg Kolb and Dave Menicucci of Sandia National Labs.
